Free Strategies To Promote Your Web Content

Bookmark and Share

Did you know there are multiple free ways to promote your web content? If you are not taking the steps to promote your material you are loosing potential customers as we speak. The best part is you can do this for free.

Have you ever written an article that you thought was really awesome? Spent extra time doing keyword research only to find your stats were flat. Well, your worries are over because you are about to learn multiple ways to promote content.

Lets start at the beginning:

  1. Your Main Hub:
If you haven't set up a hosted blog or website yet its time to start. Your main hub is the heart of your online business. This is the place where you want to link your content to. Your main hub should provide valuable information about your business and contain a solution for your visitors needs.

  2. E-Mail
Promote your web content by sending an e-mail to your targeted list or lists. People who join your list don't visit your sites on a daily basis so keep them informed about you and your content by sending out an e-mail which links to your new article.

  3. RSS Feed Directories
Your main hub should have an RSS feed for your articles. If it doesn't you want to find an RSS feed directory to manually add your new content. I like using Rapidfeeds. Once you have your article completed add it to your main feed and place the RSS button above your new article.

Now you want to find 5-8 different RSS Feed Directories to create a new feed for that article. All you are doing is creating a separate feed for that article and adding it to the directory. is a great resource for finding an RSS Directory.

  4. Your Newsletter
Similar to your e-mail lists people who sign up for your newsletter don't visit your site on a regular basis. So, go into your e-mail marketing software and add your new article to your newsletter auto responder.

  5. Article Directories
Submit your article to several different article directories. Article marketing is one of the best ways to promote your web content. The benefit is that other webmasters can publish your article on their websites or blogs which gets your content into the masses. and are two popular directories that you should consider.

  6. Bookmarking Sites
Social bookmarking sites such as: Digg, Mixx, and Delicious are beneficial for SEO. You need to be careful though, you don't want to come across as self promotional so be sure you bookmark other interesting sites on a regular basis. The best way to promote your content in social bookmarking is to have other people bookmark your content for you.

If you have a downline you can bookmark their content and have them do the same for you. There are other syndication techniques as well but they are not free methods.

  7. Web 2.0 Sites
Squidoo and Hub Pages are free web 2.0 sites that you can use to promote your web content. With a little tweaking turn your article into a lens on these sites. You'll gain the benefit of your lens being searchable and link your article to other relevant information on your main hub. Here's a great tutorial on Web 2.0 Sites called Online Real Estate

  8. Facebook
If your not using Facebook you ought to get started today. As of this writing Facebook is ranked #2 worldwide right behind Google. Whats interesting is Facebook has more sites linking into it than Google does. You need to be where the people are and Facebook is the place. How do you promote your content on Facebook? Add a note to your page and/or create a dedicated page that is strictly for business.

  9. Commenting On Other Sites
Posting comments on other blogs or forums is an excellent way to get backlinks to your main hub. As long as you add value to the conversation and don't spam you will promote your web content through your comments.

One of my mentors, who happens to be a big time business leader, told me that commenting on other business leaders blogs is one of the best ways to build a following. When you add value to the post people like what you have to say and follow you back to your site. This is how social networking for business works.

There are numerous other ways to promote your web content from video marketing to podcasting to twitter. If you are serious about building an online business the attractive way you need to read this special report today! I did and so have thousands of others.

Success has a simple formula: do your best, and people may like it. Sam Ewing
